clinton's press secretary explains an analytics data program used by our campaign and a number of other entities was accessed as part of the dnc hack. he goes on to say there's, quote no evidence our internal systems have been compromised. still, this is the third time in just one week that we've learned about hackers gaining access to democratic organizations. earlier this week, president obama said russia is almost certainly responsible and with election day just 100 days away, the clinton campaign is openly speculating that russian president vladimir putin might be trying to help trump win in november. just this afternoon, president obama's assistant was asked about this latest breach. she declined to go into specifics but did say this.

he was not a failure in afghanistan. i thought his speech was too shrill. that's not the john allen i know. also, i was upset with the potted plant routine behind him. where you line up dozens of officers so the democrats could say, see, the military likes us too, look at all the people that are standing on the dais with john allen. no i found the whole thing frankly upsetting. >> someone would say, look, he has a right to make political announcements. >> i don't think that's right. i think there's a danger here. i have a general in front of the national tv camera for 15 years.
3:33 pm
the danger is, if you are advocating for a presidential candidate, who knows future if a president has to choose a four-star commander in chief and maybe in the back of his mind he's thinking, well, he may not be such a good field commander but will he speak for me during the next convention. i know that's subtle and it smacks of, you know, a little bit of esoteric civil/military relations but it is a worry. >> as for the criticism that the general was a favor, you take issue with that? >> oh, absolutely. >> please explain. >> john allen was put into a situation in afghanistan that was unatenable. he was watching the taliban grow all around him and then he got caught up in this scandal. no, there was probably no general i know better qualified

she just said that we're not going to put mesh soldiers on the ground in the middle east to confront isis directly. one of the tenants of american strategy is you never telegraph to the enemy what you're going to do. whoever is president will have to eventually put american troops in the ground to retake isis and collapse them from the inside out. it's going to happen. ground truth will dictate politics. >> all right, general, we'll certainly continue that debate. thank you for joining us and thank you for your insight. >> some supporters of bernie sanders are still not happy with hillary clinton showing their
